    hi!

    So, if I overclock my laptop, can it stay this way permanently? Or only when playing games?

    You mean if you overclocked in the BIOS? It stays that way unless you change it back--so permanently.

    I think he means, will the laptop be ok if you permanently overclock it, and never go back to stock speeds.

    I've had my i7 overclocked oc160 since day 1, for 2 months now. No problems whatsoever... yet...

    battery life will take a hit, but overall, it's allright.
