Hey first time poster here, been browsing these forums for a couple months and have received a lot of help with question I had with my R2 from just looking around here.

My question is I recently started overclocking my CPU, which is the i7, to 158mhz fsb. Anything higher and I start to BSOD. I'm happy with the results I've gotten from that setting, however this has perked my interest even more for overclocking different components, such as the GPU lol.

I'm trying to find good core/memory/shader settings that are optimal for max performance increase, thanks in advance!

Every component is made differently, so technically using someone elses settings wont always be "optimal" as in your cpu OC. Personally i can OC to 166mhz without getting a BSOD.

As far as GPU OCing goes, i feel as if i might have gotten a lemon... I cant seem to overclock it past its stock values without running into heat problems.

Anyway, feel free to experiment with the GPU OCing tool (MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision) Just go with small increments at a time and see if your system is stable enough to handle those settings.

edit: Oh, and try searching, plenty of info on the subject.. i.e google "m11x gpu oc"

i think nvidia system tools is best for gpu overclocking. its basicly set it and forget it. and have the overclock on startup without having a window come up or anything

EVGA precision can load on boot too, according to soluto it doesn't take that long either. There's also an option to change settings on boot.

    I'm overclocked to
    core 602
    shader 1444
    memory 790

I could probably push it higher because I haven't run in to stability or heat problems, but I don't see much value in it.
