I would like to ask how much better performance some of you massive overclocking M11x users are getting? I'm hoping to secure an R2 soon that has been verified to hit 166MHz. (Please, let it got higher!) I wanted to start a thread for people who have pushed their M11x's to the max. I'm talking TS, SetPll, DavyGT's wonderful modded VBIOS, and pin modders. Anyone got numbers and comparisons? I will be HEAVILY OC'ing one when I get one. Thanks!

    Benchmarks:

    R1:

    Just Cause 2 - 1.6GHz - 35.41
    2.0GHz - 35.82 Obviously GPU limited.

    Far Cry 2 - 1.6 - 29.32
    2.0 - 32.89 Small increase, 12%

    Dawn of War - 1.6 - 30.2
    2.0 - 39.83 Nice! 28.8% increase

    Dirt 2 - 1.6 - 32.1
    - 2.0 - 43.9 Even better! 30.7%

    R2:

    wPrime 32M

    i5
    1. BCLK @ 182 with TS on - 23.362
    2. BCLK @ 166 with TS on - 25.664
    3. BCLK @ 166 with TS off (stock OC) - 38.311
    4. BCLK @ 133 with TS on - 31.912
    5. BCLK @ 133 with TS off (stock) - 36.859

    3DMark 06

When fully tweaked the R2 can have up to 50% better performance in 3DMark06 shown by tassdar898's i5 score of 90XX (stock 6000?). There are CPU benchmarks scattered across some threads showing the OC'd i7 beating the R3 i7. 166 is more then enough to beat the R3 with an i7. Can you get a verified GPU OC?
I'll run a few tests for you for the R2. Here are some benchmarks I ran on the old school R1. Feel free to use them in the OP. Ignore the Pros/Cons part.
Try running it with default settings.

Thanks! I'll ask him, but I think it'll OC well. I'm more concerned about CPU, I guess, seeing as I play BFBC2, one of the few CPU limited M11x games. And the R2 i7 beating the R3 i7 is astounding to me, and it really convinced me to pull the trigger. And I saw that 9k, simply ridiculous. Ajslay, can't wait to see the 2.0GHz done. My bro's looking into an R1, and I may try it if he does.

And that's from an i5 no less. Add a few hundred more points for the i7.

Can you find any connections to pin 7 like this? It will make your job alot easier, with less precision needed.

Yeah. You know what your stock 06 score was? I'd like to list it. I'll update this with whatever I'm given/I find.

i think i did see a few of those near the pll. id have to go back and check.
all i would have to do is solder the 10k resister to pin 7, and one of the other ones in the picture?

10k resistor to pin 7 or anything that is connected to it. You'll need a multimeter to find connections- it needs to read 0 Ohm to be a connection.

ahhh alright. i can try that. that would be much simpler then needing to be absolutely precise with all the other pins around.

Tassadar, what OC's did you have? CPU speed, GPU, etc?

Not grounding pin 7 but connecting it to 3.3v.

That's even better. Can you show us the screenshot again?

They might be on the other side so you will need a helping hand.

    EDIT: More replies:
The clockspeed of the GMA is not controllable inside Windows except maybe the Intel Control Panel. Wanna try BIOS modding the GMA VBIOS to a lower clocking one? It's already at 222mhz according to GPUZ but nothing seems to read it correctly.

Cool. Thanks! And a playbook, huh? Haven't heard anyone got one. I'm pondering the ASUS EeePad Transformer... Who knows?

yea its great im loving it. i already have a tegra2 android phone so i opted for the playbook over the eee transformer although the eee pad with its price and hardware is really attractive

Yeah. I just don't like the Blackberry OS, but I honestly prefer iOS above all. My parents got themselves an iPad for Christmas, and they love it.
