    Just for fun. Or maybe not ;)

    Share it with the world, Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites. I could not find another petition like it so I am happy to be the first to sign and plead for a new M11x.

    I will close the petition should a new model supersede the M11x.

    Sorry L. Porras, with all due respect, all I have to say is "meh". I created an idea there about the M11x being discontinued. It had a lot of votes and comments, and the feedback we got from Dell was... zero! The same happened with my Idea on why Portugal doesn't have an AW website (when we are, at most, 130 miles away from Spain! d'oh), the request for make and model of SSDs, external GPUs, and many other ideas. Lots of votes and comments, zero feedback from Dell.

    Hi HerrKaputt, I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience on IdeaStorm, you know that marketing is very difficult sometimes, as we may get to have lots of people buying from Portugal if we had an option on our website, lots of other implications may have been the reason why we could not accomplish your idea, I've seen lots of changes made on our company coming from that place, sometimes it takes a very long time. Regarding the external GPU's, I've tried to look for them but it seems to be a very difficult idea to accomplish, I know that lots of people would love having that but there are some HW limitations that we need to go over before we do that, on the m11x certainly there is a limitation on the upgrades due to the fact that the Video Card is built into the motherboard and that would be an amazing idea, but hardware wise, to create a new technology takes a lot of time and resources, while the idea to create a new platform or to continue with an existent platform may be more reasonable, the feedback may not be present there but the people who look at those ideas must have shared them with the proper channels inside our company. Personally I've seen changes on Global Marketing, I saw several posts about the Alienware Computers not available in some countries in LA, they posted their feedback and they got some platforms (m14x and m17x). There are some other ways to get your Alienware like retailers and shipping them to your country as well. I hope I answered all your concerns.

    Sincerely;

    Luis Porras

    Make sure you post this on our facebook page and twitter page as well, you'll get a lot of people supporting that idea! I'll give you one more vote for sure!

    In my option the ideal line of products would be;

    M11x
    M13x
    M15x
    M17x
    M17x CFX/SLI edition.
    M18x is too big in my opinion.

    Optical Drives are dying out and will most likely be an option with most laptop manufacturers. They take up a hell of a lot of space. Easily enough space to fit another GPU no doubt.

    Voted.

    I still think a typical line would work fine (13, 15 and 17 inch)

    13 - GT 650M GDDR5

    15 - MXM Single GPU configurations

    17 - Dual GPUs

    Maybe when they do an overhaul and get a new design and such. It would be cool to see them try to thin their machines and remove the large bezel and stuff. Most of the community would greatly appreciate seriously portable gaming machines

    Thanks for the answer, Luis. I doubt I'll ever buy an AW: the retailers who sell them here have a crap warranty, and warranty is the main reason for me wanting an AW in the first place. They also sell last-gen stuff at higher-than-current-gen prices, as I explained on IdeaStorm. I like AW, but not enough to drop my pants at those retailers' request and still pay for the vaseline.

    (I don't blame Dell/AW themselves; they probably just said "OK, you can sell our laptops" and don't care about the details)

    It's still nice to get some feedback though.

    Signed yesterday. Even if I'm not buying the next version, it would be nice to see that the m11x line is still alive so I can buy it after my R2 dies out.

    The petition, though well intended, is likely to go nowhere. Unless of course "change.org" has some pull with Dell we don't know about.

    Seriously. You expect Dell reps to monitor that and give priority over the site they want you to use?

    You would likely have better results HERE by creating a simple poll question in a dedicated thread... but then maybe only Luis would read it.

    The project owners will be monitoring it, I would say that it seems a little hard to believe that DELL would pay for the maintenance of a site like this and not checking on what's there. :p It's worth giving it a try, even I want it! :)

    Just upgraded my m17x R2 to crossfire 6990m. But, I would love something smaller for short trips. I have so many things hooked up to my m17x it's basically ment to be stationary. lol. :)

    So do I and I said this on the now closed ''M11x is no more'' post that until you hear it from the horse's mouth then the M11x is still an option. All that was mentioned was a post by Engadget that the M11x would not be continued as the recent line up did not include one but the M11x would only look to house a ULV which is perfect for these models and the ULV have not yet been released.

    The UK website is also still selling R3 this could just be getting rid of stock but until Alienware say the M11x is no more do not believe it.

    R4 needs to come. ULV + 640/650M would be an amazing feat.

    Guys, I'd like to ask you to sign the petition on my signature, asking for an M11x R4. It's on Dell's IdeaStorm website, which probably makes it easier to draw Dell's attention.

    BTW, I already voted on the OP's petition. Ideally you should vote on both.

    Great idea, signed and hopefully AW can make it a reality or at least a M12x, something smaller than the M14x for portability.

    I would have liked the option of buying a m11XR4 if it had a better screen, right now i'm looking at buying a clevo w110er but I still want the battery life that the m11x has.

    It does'nt have to be bleeding edge performance machine. It just has to be a combination of componets that work well together.
