Hi all,
I'm currently trying to decide if I want to pick up a m11x (probably whatever version is cheapest) or an Asus 1215B (AMD E350 based) netbook.
I was curious if anyone had a picture of an m11x next to a standard 12" netbook, I know the dimensions but would love to see a picture to put it in perspective. I'm a little worried that the m11x would be a little deep (right now I use a 9" asus 901 netbook, I like 'em small)
Either netbook would fit my needs, though the m11x would allow me to play some real games, just trying to consider if its worth the extra $$$.
Thanks![]()

My last computer was the hp mini note 2133.
It had a 8.9 inch screen so out was small. Now that I have my m 11x I don't think about the minor size diff. -
Watch this video and get the idea of how big is the m11x (It is not my video, i found it in youtube):
YouTube - Alienware M11x Laptop Size Comparison
Actually, as ajslay said, i thought the m11x was smaller, but you get used to it very quickly.
Anyways, you wont regret of buying it
EDIT: Also, they are a couple of videos on youtube showing the size comparison as well as the performance of the Macbook air 11"and the m11x, so if you want to watch them to have a better idea of the m11x size go ahead. -
coming from a Asus 1201n i can say get the M11x!
if i knew then what i know now i would have saved longer and waited to get the M11x instead of the 1201n.
with the R1 yoi have netbook battery life in a sub 15" frame thats able to play modern games...
does it get any better?
i dont have the 1201n any more for pica but i can say the M11x is thicker, deeper and weighs more than the 1201n but so worth it if you want the ability to play games. -

12" netbooks? Never saw one
This is a picture of a 15" Dell Insprion, the m11x and a 10" compaq netbook:

Here's a quick shot of an M11xR2 next to a 12" Google CR48 with an Xbox 360 controller for reference. Same depth, the 12" is a slight bit wider. The biggest con of the M11x is the thickness. Kind of a crappy design, but it's the best performance for the size.

Finally, I found them in my PC...

Like I said, m11x is like any 12 inches laptop... -
the thickness is needed due to the thickness of the battery. there is seriously 1mm of plastic between the battery and the keyboard. no space is wasted in this thing at all... -
Nah, the m11x is the most beautiful laptop under 12 inches...
Only the macbook air will be a good oponent... -
When i get home from work i take a pic of my m11x with my asus 1201n and even my acer One 8.9
But the m11x is a bit smaller than the 1201n and maybe a little thicker but not by much.
I just cant believe how well built this m11x is its built like a tankAnd for the thickness too me its thin sure its not thin like a macbook air or any other thin netbooks but have too remember nothing comes even close too the performance of the m11x at this size.
Using any of my laptops in my sig feels like a toy compare too the m11x lol ya even the g50vt feels cheaper. all of them are nice laptops but i think i will always go for the m11x series for now on when i need a new laptop -
Picture of a m11x next to a normal 12in netbook?
