Hey guys! My friend has a old HP from 2005-early 2006. He has a pink line running across his screen. This would be the processor or a transistor fried? Am I right? It has not gpu.

Plug it into another monitor. If it happens on the other monitor, it's the GPU. If it doesn't happen on the other monitor, it's probably his screen.

Every laptop has a GPU, if it's not dedicated then it's integrated into his motherboard. so it would most probably need either the screen or motherboard replaced. Or both.

But i have no idea why you're asking here, this is the Alienware section.
