I got my m11x last week.

How do I disable this popup on my desktop?

It's annoying... It keeps popping up every third minute. :D

I've not seen this before. Looks like something that was self-installed. Unless its something new that they have implemented but I wouldn't imagine so since its an R1.

I would go through your start up applications as well as try to find out what the pop up is for and just uninstall it VIA the control panel.

Looks like you got a demo unit from a bestbuy store. Uninstall that program now.
    LAUD-MEDIA - PC Media Channel

Edit, maybe you should jsut do a full reinstall on the system.

Yeah, this sounds like the best thing. I wouldn't want to deal with the crap Best Buy could have done to cripple units.
