EDIT: This issue is only occuring on overclock. Updated my BIOS to A04 and no change. Any suggestions?

Hi, is anyone out there running the latest version of Opera?
Try playing this video on the intel graphics,
Joe Danger Video Game, Going Big Gameplay | Game Trailers & Videos | GameTrailers.com
Can you tell me if it works? All I get is a bunch of freeze frames unless I used the nvidia chip. Video seems to run fine on internet explorer, which is strange.
EDIT: Actually no it doesn't it's screwed on there too.
EDIT 2: Don't think it's a codec issue either.
EDIT 3: Nor a driver one; just used driver sweeper to clean out my drivers and installed the latest one, still happening.

Using Opera 10.60 and Intel graphics. Tried watching the video in HD (not fullscreen) and it was basically a slideshow.
If it runs fine in IE then the issue might be Opera. The IGP in general doesn't perform very well with these kind of things, it's mainly used to save battery life. -
Are you on Overclock, and did can you also try the video in SD? Cheers.
Heres how it looks for me:

You're already using the A01 - 197.72 driver package?
-
It plays fine using the nvidia GPU even on HD (fullscreen)
Using BIOS A04 and 197.72 nvidia driver.
This might get fixed eventually if there is ever a driver update for the Intel GPU on the dell website, but like I said IGP isn't that great -
Glad it's not just me, but can the problem be only the drivers? Switching the overclock off seems to fix it.
Thanks for helping me dude, was worried for a while. -
Weird. I tried this on my system here in Internet Explorer and was able to reproduce exactly. I've asked engineering if they have any idea what is going on.
Same deal - fails with overclocking enabled but works with it disabled. Has anyone tried the newer Intel (non Dell) driver yet? -
I noticed something interesting a while ago. On Device Manager it says the driver provider for the Intel IGP is nvidia. Does this mean that both GPUs are using one combined/modified driver from nvidia?
If that's the case wouldn't installing just an Intel driver cause some issues when switching to discrete graphics?
Just curious before I use my system as a guinea pig for these things lol. -
Yes. In the R1, the Intel drivers are installed by the nVidia driver installer.
See here ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/342947-my-discoveries-vaio-z-s-hybrid-graphics.html ) for possibly more information, though this M11x subforum might have a thread floating around as well. -
Any news on this issue? I've had one or two videos that wont play properly with the 335M. Not to the extent of the other videos, though.
-
heres a really really simple solution: download firefox or google chrome. Rep +1 if i helped.
-
Happens on those browsers too, and also on actual video files as well. So no
-
Doesnt work for me on either of the m11x's I have both r1 (one is going back to dell, other is the replacement)

I've been having this issue since the flash 10.1 beta. I always assumed it was some quirk with the beta....but when 10.1 went live I still had the issue. Back during the beta, I'd also encounter this problem on Youtube and Hulu & any other flash video being accelerated by the Intel GPU while OC'd.
Same symptoms:
No OC + Intel = works fine
OC + Intel = Doesn't work
No OC + Nvidia = Works fine
OC + Nvidia = works fine
The browser I'm using seems unrelated, as they ALL do it.
And it only seems to be flash videos being accelerated by the GPU. It would work just fine with flash 10.0, which didn't have the GPU acceleration. But switching to the 10.1 beta yielded the same issue we see here in this thread.
Flash 10(no GPU acceleration) = Works fine (But slow, as the CPU is too slow for HD flash video)
Flash 10.1beta or final(With GPU acceleration) = Green screen & dropped frames
I did a bunch of tests with Youtube, Hulu, & Gametrailers & a few other streaming flash sites.
SO, when I run into one of these green videos, I have 2 options. Switch to the Nvidia 335m, or reboot & turn off OC. -
Yeah, engineering is working this. Because of how the driver is packaged (bundled Intel + NVIDIA), it is proving a bit difficult to get an update, but they are working it and hope to have something soon. I'll keep on pestering.. -

erawneila, could we get an update?
-
erawneila is no longer with the AW Quality team or posting here any longer and no one has really stepped in here to fill his shoes. Perhaps PMing DellChrisM might help.
