Post the error message contents please. You can also try uninstalling CC, reboot, install CC from the 11x support site. See if that resolves your problem.

i cant access diffrent zones like i wana make it when im playing a certain game the lighting changes to match the game
I have tryed repair and uninstalled it and reinstalled with all the same problem -
Do you have CCleaner installed? If not, download and install it - see the FAQ on using CCleaner.
1. Uninstall Command Center using the Programs & Features Control panel
2. Reboot into Safe Mode (F8 key at BIOS screen)
3. Run CCleaner - click on the Registry button on the left side of CCleaner's window. Analyze and choose to fix all issues found. Feel free to backup the changes prior to fixing if it makes you feel better. CCleaner will prompt you to backup or not.
Once complete, reboot the system normally.
4. Once back at the desktop, run the Command Center installer again. After install completes, reboot.
See if that works... basically you are performing a 'clean install' of CC. When an app is uninstalled sometimes there are left over traces in the registry which can cause issues with a reinstall of said app. -
tryed your guide step by step with no fix keeps popping up with that error message and forces cc to close
sucks cause i would like to have diffrent apps change color by themselfs
does this feature even work for anyone else? -
I also have the same exact problem with my M11x. it was working fine but then all of the sudden this error showed up. now it doesn't let me change my FX lighting with any applications
-
is there any fix or will they need to release an update in command center to fix it?
-
Can you provide the exact steps you are taking? I have some custom themes set up on my system and did not experience this problem. My CC version is 2.5.43.0. Are you in integrated or discrete graphics mode, anything else running, etc?
Thanks,
Brian
Alienware Quality -
ok here's my steps
1: turns on alienware m11x
2: sign in using alien sense
3: Lets windows fully load up
4: opens command center
5: goes to enable advance settings
6: click on + sign to add application then the error message box appears
I have tryed everything suggested and need urgent help -
i found this link and looks like im not the only one with this common problem
http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/p/19322603/19697796.aspx
only thing is this is an old thread and i dont know if this problem is ever going to be fixed or not -
I had this issue some time back. As I mentioned, reinstalling CC resolved it. Not sure why your reinstall attempt did not work. I know its something most never want to do, but any chance on backing up your existing data and restoring to the factory image? If you want to go that route, I'm betting it resolves the issue.
Attaching screenshot showing the custom FX profiles - works here. Version 2.5.43.0.Attached Files:

I can't reproduce on my M11x here in Austin, but I'll send over your error message to our Aliensense experts and see if they have any ideas...
Thanks,
Brian
Alienware Quality -
Looks like they have a new version in test right now - they are going to see if they can reproduce on both the old version and the new version.

Great news - thanks for updating!

here is the message of the error that appears. try everything. from hnistalling on safe mode, to wiping my registry..... to no avail. i think they have to patch it or something because is very annoying. after all i paid for the machine it should work as advertise. :-(

Hi I am having this exact same problem with my new m11x, does anybody know when this update to the command center might be released? Because this is really pissing me off. Btw, does anyone that actually has it working know if u can assign different color schemes to individual games within steam?
BTW, tried everything, Reinstalling, Registry Cleaner, etc., nothing worked.

i really need this fixed i have had this problem day 1 factory settings just out of the box so theres nothing on my part i can do to fix this
please alienware release an update for command center -
Just a thought...
Have you verified your OS is up-to-date? Meaning - run Windows Update and be sure you do not have any updates which need to be applied, specifically Microsoft .NET updates.
Also, I have no idea if Command Center (AlienFX) utilizes Java in any way but if it does it wouldn't hurt to verify you are running the current version of Java. See: Download Java for Windows from Sun Microsystems
If there are updates which need to be applied, once complete and you reboot try again. If still erroring out, try the reinstall of CC one more time.
To answer lekalgo's question, yes, you can assign different color schemes based on application (games). See my screenshot in my previous post. -
just tryed installing java again with no success
and i noticed theres a new version of command center but thats messed up windows everytime i open cc it appears the message box
user account settings blah blah blah
seriously man cant alienware just read this error code were all getting and patch the problem
mean jesus only payed £1200 for this comp -
Problem is... not all of us are seeing this error which is why I am suggesting a clean install of CC. Lion, as I mentioned previously in the thread - perhaps a clean factory restore will resolve your issue. Dont take mistake my post - I can relate to the frustration of issues with the system. Sorry you are having such a tough time with it.
-
Well for me it was working fine. i actually having it running with left 4 dead with the red theme with flashy alienware logo for a moment and then it turns off. everything was working fine untill this error showed up. now i cant add more apps to it. i downloaded the new version but it didnt work! and i dont want to do a clean install cuz i just dont wanna hustle with it..
-
ETA for the new version is end of next week, but I can't guarantee it. I'll let you know when I sign off on it - it normally shows up online within a few hours of that... I still can't reproduce on any of my machines here - very odd...
Thanks,
Brian
