I turned on my m11x today and for some reason windows and all the CPU related programs are not detecting all the cores/threads of my CPU, I noticed it when I checked throttlestop and it was showing only 2 cores/threads (it was 4 before).

msconfig only shows 2 cores aswell, dxdiag says it has 2 cores (it used to say it has 4 cores).

How can I fix this? T_T

Well it does only have 2 cores. With hyper-threading, it has 4 virtual cores, but only 2 actual.

Did you turn off Hyperthreading in the BIOS?

This is true, but the computer still shows 4 cores for me everywhere the OP is stating it says 2.

I know it has 2 cores and 2 threads, but some apps show them as cores.

I checked the bios and there isn't any option about hyper-threading and I'm sure I haven't touched the bios for a while.

Go back into msconfig and make sure Boot - Advanced Options - Number of processors is not checked. It should find both cores and all 4 threads after you reboot. This is usually the cause of this problem.

How is this setting getting checked in the first place? We keep seeing reports of it here.

At first I thought applying this in msconfig made it utilize the 2 cores on startup while not setting it only used one. To my understanding this is incorrect as leaving it default already utilizes maximum cores and this feature is simply for setting less cores for startup (if you had to want that). So I may be to blame for suggesting it to a few people but I think I cleared it up by saying it has no effect and uncle did mention reports of this conflicting so I apologize. Glad its all dandy for you now anyway.
