    The guy I talked to at Dell here in the States claimed there have been no hinge problems. We will see, just ordered mine last night.

    That's not true. The newly re-designed LCD assembly is not in current production. Don;t let that bother you though. Most owners are not having hinge issues and those that do will get the new LCD assembly starting sometime this month.

    What was real funny is he said after he said that they had no hinge problems, he then went on to say that all laptops have hinge problems. :confused:

    So I was like....hum ok....well I haven't had any on all of my laptops I've ever had (I have a small collection). But, I'm not worried, I'm real excited and can't wait to get it! They said aprox. delivery 2/17, not sure if I can wait that long.

    i ordered on 1/20 and it shipped out on 1/23 or 1/24, and was supposed to be delivered 1/27 but got delayed a little b/c of snowstorms. either way, the "expected delivery date" was 2/1 so even with a 2 day delay, it still got to me 2 days earlier than expected.

    It's been proven time and again that if you constantly refresh your tracking page - not stopping for things like food, sleep, school or work - that it speeds up delivery. ;)

    I'm notorious for spamming F5 (or Web OS on my phone if I'm out) all throughout the day on the UPS/FexEx page. I'll do it every 30 minutes from when I wake up to when I sleep, everyday until it arrives. God I'm bad ... lol. There's probably worse F5 spammers out there, though :p

    i know but no point in waiting if there's no date or other news on things like specs.

    EDIT: I ordered it in the morning before i went to work and it is still in the work in progress phase. oh, the custom nameplate will just say "M11x R2" without the quotes :)

    Call up and say you need it sooner for work, they may be able to give you next day. Did you end up getting anything off of it? If not remember to call up and say you want to return it, once you have it for a few days.

    Thats a good idea. I think I will call after work and say I need it for work ;). Also, I will try the return tactic. And no, they didn't want to negotiate anything with me when I called. But I ended up catching the student rate when it dropped to $499 on Tuesday.

    I bought 2 M11x R2 so my wife and I can play next to each other and they are both in the Fedex truck right now!!

    I picked them up with the refurbished deal that went up the other day, i5, 8gigs ram for $799 each.
