    Hi all,
I can't get quake live (a firefox plugin) to use the 335m on the 260.99 verde drivers. I've added firefox.exe to the whitelist but it's still running on the intel, and runs at about 30fps and under which is not really playable for this game.

    Any help appreciated :)

I managed to first break, and then fix the function on mine, currently I need the two main nvidia reg keys from someone to compare so i can try work out exactly what causes this problem.

I don't know why an unanswered question from November is being opened back up, but on the off chance it helps someone, whitelisting flash inside firefox requires that one list 'plugin-container.exe', not 'firefox.exe' or flash, to use the preferred graphics processor.

Don't wanna say it, but jeez, so much crap going on with optimus. The manual switch between cards seems so much better.

Why shouldn't an unanswered question from even 4 years ago get bumped if someone starts to find the answer and there isn't any other thread?

quakelive doesn't use flash, they even removed most if not all of it from the site.

the plugincontainer would have been appropriate but it's already been tried, and no one would want that to always use the GPU any more than firefox itself, as all plugins running with ICP use that.

There is a temporary fix as mentioned above, I'll post back when there is a firm solution.

Thanks for working on this, I'd love to get into quake live, it seems ideal for the m11x.

I managed to get the latest dell nvidia drivers to work after several manual clean and reinstall attempts.
Nothing seemed significantly different in the registry however :/

I've now done a 'clean install' as offered by the 266.35 beta's, and once again it now will not start the gpu when the quakelive client is started :(

I'll try reinstalling again after a manual registry clean instead tomorrow.

    This is really frustrating.

It absolutely refuses to let me put firefox into the list of applications.

Anyone ever find a way to get the Nvidia card working with this game? I tried whitelisting the firefox plugin container after adding the quake dll through about:config and it's still using the integrated graphics...

FPS doesn't really dip below 60 with everything set for max visibility, but I have a feeling that won't be the case when I hook it up to an external monitor...

for whatever reason the only driver i could get it to switch to the nvidia gpu on (without ever whitelisting anything) was dell's official driver.

Wow. I wonder if this method could be applied all the time (on boot-up for example)
