    Hey guys,

So I have been on the fence about getting an SSD for my m11x R1 for quite some time now. I think I may buckle down and just get one for Christmas this year. I have a few questions before I get one though.

I was looking at this SSD. Here are my questions:

    1. Is Crucial a reliable SSD manufacturer?

    2. This says it is SATA 3, but 3 is backwards compatible with a SATA 2 interface right? Even if it does slow the advertised speeds down, it is more future-friendly.

    3. Is there anything bad about this drive or its price?

    4. Is there another SSD you guys would recommend instead?

    Thanks everyone

    1. Yup
    2. Yup
    3. Nope
    4. Not really, the M4 is pretty much what everyone gets for their M11x.

Intel and Crucial are the best SSDs on the market. If I were to buy I would choose the Crucial M4.

Crucial M4's are very solid ssd's. Yes it is in essence backwards compatible, your speeds will be dropped to Sata 3gb/s (which people refer to as Sata 2, not sure why because it makes no sense Sata is Sata).

Like SA Spurs1 said, intel and crucial are probably the most reliable ssd's, good performance, intel is just pricier than crucial.

I'd recommend the crucial M4 as well.
