    Hi,

I just bought this little laptop to my girlfriend because she wanted to game with me.

But now after having searched for about a month for drivers (since DELL has bought Alienware and made their webpage obselete and their drivers very hard to find).

Now I read here that there's modded drivers for this laptop. I think I have the R1 because it has an Intel Core 2 Duo, and a Geforce 335M.

I installed all the right drivers but GPU won't switch to dedicated. I can force it from the BIOS but I don't always want her to switch back and forth. I need it to work properly.

What drivers would you recommend me to use? Any useful links to them?

I have installed a stock Windows 7 64bits on it. It's running quite fine, but it won't run Sims 3 or Guild Wars 2 at minimal settings properly without lag (on DEDICATED). Is it normal?

Thanks so much, it'd be awesome if someone could lend me a hand!

    Have a nice day.

    - Tommy

EDIT: I found this http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m11x/618374-m11x-r1-hybrid-optimus-driver.html which seems useful.

You need to install dell video drivers for the switchable graphics to work correctly.

Here's the list of all the drivers with the correct order installation, check if you're not missing any others.

    An important note:
Because the M11x R1 uses manual graphic switching, as opposed to Optimus in R2 and R3, it requires a special set of drivers.
You will need to install the ones from the dell website-no other source will do.
Though, that link does look interesting. No idea how well it works though, as I don't have an R1 model.

Link topic works great... but it isn't the solution asked for. Given the target use stick with OEM.
