Is the screen still touching the keyboard like it did on r1/r2 and showing vertical lines on screen that you have to wipe?
I know that the r3 got them new/improved hinges but what is the current behavior of the hinges? Opening and closing lid creaks and sounds? not align like when lid is close the bottom and top part is showing some space a few cm?
Thanks

I will add that if this problem got carried over from the R1/2 to the R3 (screen touching the keyboard), then I suggest buying a ShaggyMac laptop specialty cloth, which should run for about 15$.
I use one for all my laptops just to avoid potential screen scratches when traveling.

You won't regret it. I've had mine for 7 months and it's still in perfect meticulous condition -
Screw that voodoo lol jkz. But yea screw that, the r3 should not have this problem bro. So let's wait for the r3 owners to verify the keyboard touching screen

I haven't noticed this issue with my R3. But i have not owned a previous m11x nor have i transported it much. There are rubber pads on the laptop that should prevent the issue from occurring but if the r1 and r2 also have the rubber pads it may not be fixed. I'll be sure to post if i notice this happening but mine has been perfect so far.

I've never had the problem with my R2.

The exterior design of the R3 seems to be almost identical the the design of the R2 so I would imagine if you have the issue with the screen getting marked up by the keyboard you are likely to have it with the R3 as well.

i definitely have the issue on my brand new R3.

I also have this problem on my new R3.

Custom Shop : ShaggyMac, Laptop Screen Protector & Keyboard Cover, Laptop Cleaner & Accessories
it appears you can get the cloth custom cut to fit the m11x perfectly.
gonna have to measure and buy one of these. -
Those LCD covers with part numbers such as 40GMX. -
After putting on the anti-glare screen protector, I never really see keyboard marks on the screen.
I suggest those who are getting tired of keyboard marks to get screen protectors !
I also keep reminding myself to wash my hand whenever my hands feel oily and that really help me to keep my keyboard clean. -
My R3 keyboard does *not* touch my screen. The little rubber pads (those weren't on the previous versions, were they?) seem to prevent the issue.
The lid closes neatly too.
I had one R2 where the board completely touched the screen, and a replacement where it didn't, but there was a very noticeable gap, and the hinges felt almost too tight, like the lid was being forced to stay open, if that makes sense. -

12 Widescreen Laptop Screen Protector [SPaStd12w] - $12.95 : ShaggyMac, Laptop Screen Protector & Keyboard Cover, Laptop Cleaner & Accessories -
its not so much touching the keyboard as it is touching the two vertical rubber stoppers that lie on the outside of the base and below the keyboard. so all i get are two little lines approx 1 inch long on the sides of my screen (the black part)

It's not touching my keyboard but i do put the Razer Kabuto as a screen protector / mouse pad for just 20 bucks i think its a good deal. the Kabuto fits the m11x perfectly

I think we can also use the default white sheet of cover that comes with the m11x right?

How many memory slots does the M11xR3 have? I know the R3 supports upto 16GB, so does it mean it has 4 memory slots. If so, all 4 at the back?

I should say the R1/R2 also can be upgraded to the new Hinge system. So this really isn't a R3 users only question
. There's no difference in noise to the Old Hinge System and The New Hinge System. The New Hinges are a bit more sturdy and reliable.
