Will an r1 display connect and fit onto an r2 motherboard? Also will an r1 IO board work with the r2 MOBO?

If you mean the LID assembly, then it depends if it has the old or new revision as the hinges on both sides are different. but if they are the same revision, then yes i believe it will fit.

As for the motherboards, no. Peripheral ports and mobo mounts are different for each, they do not fit without heavy butchering of the chassis.

I do have the new display with the new hinges. Also, I wasn't talking about putting an r2 MOBO in an r1 chassis I was asking if the IO board of an r1 would work with the r2 motherboard. ( cuz I kno they dont work with the r3s)

Ah, gotcha. I can't say i know the answer to that tbh, never had to replace anything on my M11x systemboards. But if he doesn't post here PM ejohnson, if anyone knows he does :p

I'm fairly certain the lids are compatible, AFAIK only the trim and hinge designs (and ultimately chassis mounts for said hinges) differ between models. Connections should just be the display & 2 antennas which is all the same. Not sure if the R3 has 3 antennas or still just 2.
