Does doing this effect gaming that much or should I just stick to the integrated drivers?

To find out for youselves (as different games may show a benefit or now) switch to discrete only in the bios and install the 260.99 drivers available from Nvidias website (these have the required dll files for the 335m).

I have tried them myself but I didn't notice any change from the 197.72 dell drivers. Of course I havn't tried every game so I can only comment on the ones I have tried.

Doing this does mean to you will lose the ability to switch to the integrated graphics (unless you try modified drivers).

I would try this and then switch back to the 197.72's if you don't see any benefit in the games you play.
