    R1 Gone and Price increase on R2??

    The first website I visited this morning while eating breakfast was plastered with ads for the "New M11x!" I quickly jumped over to the alienware website to find nothing new except for a lack of choices. Now the only memory option is 8gb resulting in a 1099 base pricepoint after the $200 instant rebate.

    I really dont know what to make of this. Are they trying to increase the base pricepoint of the M11x? Was the M11x canabalizing the sales of the M15x?

    I will say that the price points across the three alienware laptops do have a consistency to them, M11X $1099, M15X 1599, M17X $2299.

    Weird, now they are back up. I swear this morning at 9am EST the R1 was gone and it looked like for good.

    Sorry about that. That's what I get for speculating.

    Happened in New Zealand about 4 months ago. M11xR1 is no longer available.
    Probably worried people will mod pin 14 and get a 'cheap' super clocked notebook.
