This is the biggest thing bugging me about the su7300 and I have to make a decision in 3 hours before this outlet coupon runs out.
Optimus seems to get lots of driver updates while the manual switching is getting very few if any. I think these driver updates are crucial to future gaming and general operation.
The difference is $100 and I get a bigger HD with the 7300. Battery life is a bit better with the OC-ed 7300 but this future support is worrying me the most here.

If graphics driver updates are important to you do not get a R1. Dellienware has long since abandoned it. Thankfully there are some smart and dedicated fans on this board who are working to find a way to create a home-grown driver set using the latest nvidia and intel drivers but there's no guarantee of success.

Yeah after doing some research and reading parts of that latest hybrid driver thread, I decided to go with the r2 i5 and take the battery life hit. I'm not one of those folks to be updating drivers every day but its nice to keep up for a newer game or something every couple months.
For $100 more I get an i5 and 250 gig hd but lose a bit of battery life and a 500 gig hd. I guess I will be upgrading the drive in a bit... -
Optimus on M11xR2 have been officially supported in Verde driver since 260.99 so it should remain supported throughout it's life span till probably Nvidia choose to drop Optimus and come up with something else. Hybrid graphics on the other hand is officially out of support from Nvidia unless Dellienware keep it updated. Alternatively you can only rely on peeps around NBR like Nautis to create an update.
