I just ordered my R1 and was wondering if anyone else has tried this combination? I have the drive already in my Lenovo x201 i7 Tablet and like it. If you are unfamiliar... this is the drive that I speak of.

I used the 250GB version in my R1 for a while
    I disabled the accelerometer/drop sensor
    I ran fine

Yeah, I use the 500GB XT Momentus with the R1, it's good, except for the part I need more space, but that's a personal problem.

Think there's quite a few people running HDD/SSD hyrids in their M11x.

    Seagate specifications

    Momentus XT | 500GB | 7200 RPM | Seagate

I seem to remember reading that there is a new version of the disk coming with a larger NAND SSD component which ups it to 8GB from 4GB.

Be nice if that's the case and it's included in the 2.5" drive.

Yeah it's quite a common combination. I have the R2 (yeah I know, no help to you) and dropped the Momentus in it about 5 minutes after the machine came out of its shipping box. Love it.

8GB would be nice. I ran the one with 4GB for a while. Nice drive, but still doesn't compare with a full SSD. The 8GB will help a lot more though, a large chunk of the OS files would be stored on the NAND for faster boots, but didn't leave much for your regular apps.
