Does anyone have an idea when the R2 might start appearing in brick and mortar stores? I talked to a sales rep and he told me they're coming in 2 weeks... Yeah, I don't think he understood what I was asking, but w/e.

Even if you could buy from a store like Best Buy, I would still order through Dell. If you want your system right away, get a Fast Track system from Dell. Dell has a *MUCH* better return policy, will often have discounts/coupons which Best Buy does not, and may even save you additional money if you don't get charged tax (saving 7% tax on a $1000 system is $70).
-
Well, I want to pay with cash. So unless I can mail them $1000.....
And either way, I just would prefer to buy it at a brick and mortar store. -
My guess is that it's going to be after they clear out the R1 stock.
-
My local BB just started stocking the m17x R1! It will be a while for the m11x R2...
-
Yeah, get a fasttrack from Alienware online. I got mine in 2 days. And you don't have to deal with the goofs at BestBuy.

If best buy gets the R2, how likely is it that it will be the fast track configuration?
-
21 days from the date of invoice is a terrible return policy, considering you don't get much days with the machine before the time is up. And most states pay sales tax...
-
The reeason that I think dell has a better return policy is because they don't charge restocking fee. You also get to apply coupons and discounts to dell purchases when they are available, which happen a lot more often than Best Buy sales.
-
Extremely likely. Dell saves money by manufacturing one configuration for those two sales channels, instead of manufacturing a separate configuration for each.
-
I agree you will see a fast track system.
-
Damn, so I might as well buy it online. Thnx for the help guys, I'm not gonna wait and just buy it online. an i7 config. Despite the fact that fast track is...well...faster, I really want the i7 config, so yeah.
Thnx guys! -
HP has a much better return policy. They pay for shipping both ways (at least every time I've needed to return a laptop). No restocking fee. 30 days from the day the notebook arrives at your house.
-
I have returned 3 Dell laptops and never had to pay for return shipping or a restocking fee. I have kept several too!
-
That is an awesome return policy. The only downside I see to that is that you have to buy an HP
-
I seriously thought about getting a Core i7 system. But I went with the fast track, because I figure that the Core i7 isn't going to be much faster in gaming. It would have cost more than the Core i5, taken 3 weeks to build. Ultimately, I got a Fast Track system, because I don't like to wait.
