You may encounter issues to install the latest nVidia driver. It may not be able to find the hardware because of the Optimus Technology present on your machine. If that's the case you will need to modify the INF file of the nVidia installation package for it to work.

i dont think id know how to do that...
if thats the case I guess you would just recommend the drivers from the alienware support page? They are version v.257.30, A01 and were updated 03/11/2011.. would that be to old??

You could try those, they usually don't cause any issues. If any game suggests a change then just try the drivers on laptopvideo2go.com, those have the INF file modified.

I'm using the latest nVidia drivers for my 335m and optimus works fine.
