So has anyone here swapped their motherboard successfully from a R2 i5 520MB to a i7 680 MB?? If you have, any complications or discrepancy's? I love my M11x but for some reason every Nvidia drivers i have put on this laptop im getting non-stop BSOD or lockups. I'm still in the old 257.xx nvidia now and now its locking on me even after a clean install and 2 different hard drives (SSD and a 500gb XT) I give up, and i don't really want to buy a new M11x till maybe a big overhaul on it (r4 or r5 if i have to) My warranty is up, and i can't deal with the tech support even as helpful they are.![]()

Same revision same MB, straight swap if you ask me.

no need for the big overhaul, if drivers are jsut your problem the 260.99 driver is the most stable in my opinion

You could do that OR you could try and get ahold of an r3 MOBO and IO board and turn it into and R3! theres a thread here somewhere from someone who did it...

the 275.xx beta is the last drivers i can find from the nvidia website. yes i did see the thread who did the r3 conversion but he couldn't find a i/o usb 3.0 board and he had to shave off some parts off the chasis. i did manage to talk to the alienware tech support again today, went back to the 257.xx drivers again, and he did tell me about the m11x overhaul this spring. more likely a r3.5 version coming soon
R2 i5 520 into R2 i7 680
