Got my M11x R2 delivered today, and the first thing I noticed is that at the center of the keyboard (around the letters Y, U, G, H) it's curved inwards slightly. Is that normal or should i be contacting Dell about this?
It's not THAT bad, but it's noticeable enough that it was the first thing i noticed when i opened the laptop.

Yeah, this is a fairly common issue with m11xs. I don't think it is really repairable though.
-
That is a part of the normal design. So far the three R3's I have encountered all have the same design and they are all from different dates of manufacture so I am pretty sure it's normal
-
If it really bothers you, call Dell. You just received your system and you should be 100% satisifed.
-
They have a 21 day return policy from the time it was shipped. So make sure all is in working order otherwise you will be stuck with it for repairs.

It is not a defect it is a part of the design of these keyboards. Maybe it only shows up on the newer models
-
Not sure on others but R1 has KB screws off center due to internal space/location issues. The clamping force is not evenly distributed.
There are cases where the KB is not clipped in all the way on the outside though and this can cause some odd distortion in KB. Easy enough to check for and fix though. -
I found that after fully taking out the keyboard to clean it, the keyboard sits much more flat now.
I think that one of the clips on the side of the keyboard wasn't fully clipped in when I got my M11x but I wasn't too sure until I had actually taken out the entire keyboard.
R2 keyboard... Dented?
