Since the VGA port was removed, is it still possible to run two external monitors? I'm not interested in gaming on more than one monitor, but for doing work it'd be nice to have the option.

Yes, one using HDMI and the other using Displayport.
-
errr, i know that there is the HDMI and Displayport... but when i tried to use both at once, my laptop would recognize them both, but only let me use 2 monitors at once (the laptop's counted as 1 of them if i chose it)... but i didn't try for a long amount of time or do much additional research, so maybe i'm wrong (if you're looking for a displayport to hdmi or something else wire, you're best to order it online... i couldn't find them anywhere in the stores that i went to)

nVidia only has two output drivers (mobile). ATi has upto 5 on their mobile parts (6 on desktop).
-
Oh, sorry I just assumed it would work, never tried using anything other than my one external monitor.
-
I guess I should have been clearer in my first post, but that's what I'd like to be able to do -
Yes. Two screens at any time. Disable the laptop screen (if possible), and enable the two outputs.
On the earlier statement, I should of added:
Intel can also drive two outputs, at a max of two. (R2 uses Intel IGP's output drivers).
R2: Dual external monitors?
