So I've had my R3 nebula red for a month or so now and just by the fact of picking it up and using it, the soft-touch finish especially on the lid seems impossible to rub clean. The lid is covered in thumb and finger prints which just won't go away.

What do you guys use to buff this back to the new finish? I've tried a lint free cloth in a cleaning circle motion but it just does nothing and makes circle scratches which rub off luckily. I'm unsure about spraying anything on there to clean it up, in case it marks the finish on the soft rubber.

    Any suggestions appreciated? :D

I'm probably going to be experiencing this as a soon to be owner of a Stealth Black; but I would've thought a bright color like red would conceal smudges more like in the case of a white iPhone against a black one but I may be wrong.

I would have personally gotten the Nebula Red if not for the fact that mine would be used for work as well, and I've considered red doesn't go very well with all the AlienFX colors.

But whatever, I wish the M11x somehow had interchangeable skin. Red is really a head turner IMO.

By the way, have you tried damping the cloth with a bit of water? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.

Hey squeak, what sort of cleaner are you using? I've tried so hard to get the oily fingerprints off the lid of my stealth black R2 but to no avail.

yeah, i use lense cleaner, i've got like 3 bottles of the stuff for my glasses, but I never use it on them. So I save it for computer screens and keyboards and now the m11x cover sometimes

Also, don't touch the top of the lid if you can help it ;)

I use disinfectant wipes to clean the laptop (not the screen though) and then use a wet paper towel to wipe it again.

It will look like it's new. Have been doing this for more than a year.

mine seems to be fine... unless i touch it before washing my hands after having some KFC or something... i do wipe it with some water-based screen cleaner from 99p store... Works fine, looks like new.

I do always keep it in the alienware bag thing when carrying around though, so some of it stays in there as well... I'd be quite concerned right now if i was a germophobe...

I don't think it is as delicate as you think it is... just plastic, but it is fairly durable...
