Ok well was wondering about the r3 users. Does your system stutter when you play games? If so i am having that same problem where my fps starts at 60 then goes dwn to like 15 then it goes back up and it repeatedly does this. I have downloaded the intel turbo boost technology monitor program which lets me see what my cpu actual speed is and open my game and put it to windows mode and found that my cpu speed goes up and dwn as well when i game. I have had my r3 for almost a year now and had problems in the past and i sure hate the dell depot service when i send my laptop in for repairs and it came back to me with scratches and stripped screws...I have set everything to max performance and white list games, the problem still insist. But i was wondering if there is a fix for this cpu problem thats causing these stutters.

What games in particular? Maybe you're just trying to push it too far?

I had this problem with some of the more demanding games such as Skyrim and Dead Space 2. What I did to fix it was set "pre-rendered frames" to the maximum in the Nvidia control panel. Also I turned off many of my startup programs and background programs as possible in the MSCONFIG.

*Sigh* it's a problem that could be easily fixed if the damn sandy bridge processors worked with throttlestop.

i don't really get those... just while playing grid i get some slow downs at times, dunno could be part of the game cause it usually happens when i am about to do something stupid, like almost smash into the wall, makes it sort of easier to react. Again, not sure if thats what it is lol.
I'd get some massive slow downs on strategy games, but i sort of quit those cause they do take a lot of time... depends on setting, but who likes tiny armies when you can have some LEGENDARY ones... made me realize why people actually use the throttle stop
again, never actually get those... HL2 works like a dream... all source games do... Skyrim works great on nearly maxed out settings (range ones not, cuz well need maor ram) and so on... i did try a lot of games, never really noticed any of that "shutter"...
what games are we talking about here anyways? i'd get mad jumpy FPS in HL2 say when i had A LOT of zombies on map (priest mission), didn't notice that when i reinstalled windows, could've been something different. -
i have tried rendering and all still the same. im thinking i need to replace my paste.

Thankx i will try that throttle stop program and see if it will help. -
WOW! this program is amazing i can simply change the speed of the cpu at will and i turned off turbo mode, i think its the problem thats causing stuttering in games. The turbo mode goes haywire like it can't make up its own damn mind which speed is best for certain games. lol. But yeah truly an amazing program, now my fps is stable in game. Thankx Uncleweb for the help! hmm how do i give ppl rep...
R3 users!
