I just ordered my M11x last night off the Dell site. I got it bare bones, but hesistated on upgrading anything because of the massive cost of all the accessories I ordered with it (N Network Router etc.) Since I hesitated I left the 2GB RAM as the default. Now im already thinking about upgrading to 4GB RAM. If im not mistaken it will be way cheaper to upgrade it myself. My question is: For somebody who has never even cracked open a computer before, much less a laptop, what do I need to know about purchasing and upgrading the RAM? I want to add another 2GB Stick. Is there compatability issues between different types of RAM? Is there a guide to taking apart your M11x somewhere? Help would be much appreciated!

The RAM is easily accessible on the M11x once you take off the bottom panel (about 5-6 screws).

Won't you have to buy 2x2GB sticks? Actually would have been cheaper if you bought 4GB to begin with. 2GB is quick enough so i'd wait first to make sure it's really necessary.

Ive seen a lot of people saying 2GB isnt good enough for many modern games. I guess I will hold off and see how 2GB works for now though. I probably have a 1GB RAM stick in my old laptop but I think it is DDR2. Would that not be compatible?

No, it won't be compatible. I'm using 2GB Ram and it probably performs as well as any other M11x. Just make sure to close all other programmes when gaming, without crap running in the background 2GB is suffice.
