    Ram upgrade and i7

    Hello everyone!

    I have got 2 questions -

    If i order M11x R2 with 4G ram, i would be able to upgrade it later to 8G?
    How many cores i7 has in this portable edition?

    Yes you can upgrade ram
    The i7 has 4 cores i believe,
    someone double check all this :D

    Yes, you can later upgrade to 8GB. Be aware that if you intend to upgrade, you must buy the full 8GB (2x4GB sticks), and replace the 4GB that comes in your laptop (2x2GB). You cannot simply buy 4GB more, and throw it in the laptop.

    On the bright side, 4GB of RAM is more than enough for anything you could possibly want to do with your laptop today or in the future. The only reason to get more than 4GB of RAM is if you are running large databases on your laptop (which you are not), or if you are going to be running lots of virtual machines.

    And both the Core i5 and Core i7 offered in the M11x R2 have 2 physical cores with hyperthreading. Your OS will see that as 4 virtual cores. There are some overseas versions of the M11x R2 which offers a Core i3. That is 2 physical cores, no hyperthreading.

    Mobile i3 has hyperthreading, but no turbo boost.
