    Hey all,

I am in the process of cloneing my oem hdd over to a newer and larger one. Something is confusing me in the setup process. When in Acronis True Image, the original hdd has three partitions, the main storage space at 132, the tiny windows 7 partition and then the recovery partition. This is my question, the recovery partition shows that it currently occupies 14 gb of the total drive. However, the actual size of the data used on the partition is something like 4 gbs. What is all that extra space for, and do I need it or can I reduce the size of the recovery partition when I clone?

If no one has tried it since you have acronis I would make a backup of the partition and then try it out. I was able to reduce my recovery partition by a GB without any problems. Never dared to try it on my HP though. I noticed with my ASUS after using it a couple of times it changed in size a little bit, maybe temp files?

Anyways unless they put some crazy checks in there it should function smaller. Just give it some breathing room and dont forget to make a backup of the partition just incase it doesnt work out.
