So I took apart my m11x R1 to see if there were unplugged ribbons because my lights don't work (aside from my keyboard so if anyone knows what the problem could be I'd appreciate the insight). Instead I have a broken hinge on a ribbon toward the left of the fan under the keyboard that I figured should be held down so I taped it down but then my system wouldn't start. Then I gently tapped the hinge down to mess with it and then the computer turned on while as my actual power button doesn't work. Thoughts anyone?

Did you try the AlienFXTester.exe that's located inside the Alienware's Command Center installation folder?

I just tried it and all it worked on was my keyboard, so it must be a hardware issue right?

Post some photos of the hinge. Also, either reseat cable of power button board or get a replacement.

I would post a photo, but I promised to risk taking it apart. I have spare parts if I found a experienced repairman (I was gifted to m11x's one with the CPU OC'd to death). I'm more so curious why this one ribbon would turn the system on rather than the actual power button.
