I guess it isn't a problem exclusive to Acer's adhesive formula. After both rubber pieces started slipping out and lost their adhesive pads (the adhesive itself broke down and remained), I eventually lost one rubber piece and frequently nearly lose the other (honestly, I expected to lose it first). I often find it stuck to me or my clothes!

Can I get replacement rubber pieces from somewhere? These are the pieces that create a gap between the screen and the keyboard so that they do not touch when closed.

My last two Acer notebooks had the rubber pieces around the display and keyboard eventually lose their adhesion exactly the same way. The adhesive-carrying film underneath slips off of both the rubber and plastic surfaces and the remaining adhesive is more fluid-like and does not hold the rubber and plastic together well. You can usually see it oozing around the rubber pad. It always seems to happen no matter how aware of it I am and despite me babying the notebooks. It's almost as if they eventually just "rot" or degrade to this point. Perhaps the notebook's heat causes the adhesive to break down or something.

The other day I lost my bottom rubber feet, and my palm rest rubber pieces so I decided to call Alienware and see if they would replace it. They couldn't replace my bottom rubber pieces since it's not on the panel and they don't stock them. But for the palm rest ones, in order for that to be replaced the rep said that they would have to replace the whole palm rest for the rubber pieces...so if you truly want them to be replaced you'd have to get your whole palm rest replace haha. I decided not to since I rather not have the tech mess something up...

Why dont you buy these rubbers used on vehicles to keep the dust out? It is a sponge strip with the adhesive on the one side. They come in various sizes and thicknesses.
