Or whatever they're called, I'm missing one of my little rubber grip buds for getting a grip of the surface below the laptop. I'm missing the one near the fan.

Any idea where to get spares? Thanks!

Call support. They'll replace them under warranty.

They can send you a new bottom panal, if the missing rubber foot is on it, other wise it may need to goto the depote.

Regardless of which foot is missing, they'll send you either the bottom access plate or if the the one foot on the lower shell then they'll send a tech out to replace that for you. I've already had this done. No need for sending it off.

Its not covered under warranty =[

But the dude offered to do something unorthdox and send me a bottom plate like Slickie88 said but I'm to remove the root myself and apply it to my laptop and send the plate back. ^_^

I'm not sure what sort of warranty you have, but it certainly was covered under mine. There wasn't even a discussion about it when I called support. It's covered unless you have some non-Dell warranty. The fact that they're sending you a part pretty much seems like they covered it for you too...

The warranty that I have is what I got when I bought the laptop, no upgrades or anything. The dude called it cosmetics and such that cosmetics were not part of my warranty thus no fix.

The dude said it was strictly not under the warranty and that he was making up a problem so I could get an underground fix of sorts. =]

Might I ask what type of adhesive you used to get yours back on?

You need to call back and make sure you speak to someone else. Tell them that, no the loss of a rubber foot is NOT cosmetic and that it leads to less air intake. If they tell you otherwise then ask to speak to their supervisor. You might also want to head over to the Dell AW Owners forum and ask ChrisM for assistance.

It flat out IS covered under warranty.

Cool, will do next time this happens. But for now I'm getting my fix.

Think I should still call up and be sure about it? Or am I good till next time it happens?

Yep. I've got 2 rubber buds missing. Spoke to support via e.mail, sent them a couple of photos of the affected area and I get a brand new base plate, along with new motherboard and monitor, but thats a different story.
Definitely get in touch with support, if your still in warranty why wouldn't ya.
