just wondering if any of you are getting higher WEI scores.

i installed a new HDD (WD Black 750GB) and RAM (Gskill 8GB) and my scores are much higher than before with this new fresh instal of W7. considering my RAM is running at the same Cas and mhz as before i would have to guess that SP1 updated the way WEI rates hardware. aslo i was under the impression no matter what spindle drive you had you couldn't get a higher score than 5.9.

    any ideas?

    before SP1 with stock hardware.

So far, no one tried that so you will be the first.

This Service Pack is not showing up in Windows Update... so I'll need to get it manually.

If you need something with more grip, you can use the end of a .9mm flathead screwdriver.

@some guy - Not all of us have a big one like you :D

I just have a bog standard M11xR1 SU7300 (with original bog).

My WEI score is still the same after Windows 7 SP1 upgrade.

    Processor: 4.6
    Memory (RAM): 5.5
    Graphics: 6.5
    Gaming graphics: 6.5
    Primary hard drive: 5.9
No real reason why it should change.
Had a look at Windows Virtual PC just in case that did something new and exciting, but no noticeable change.
Windows Virtual PC does get it's only little upgrade for each VM you run after Win7 SP1 upgrade. But what it's upgrading I know not.
Using two Windows Virtual PC at the same time (one with IE6 and one with IE7) still seem to operate with the same resources.

Can get Graphics and Gaming graphics up to 6.6 within WEI when over-clocking the GPU. But could do that before Win7 SP1.

Dell has decided to rename my M11xR1 to an M11xR3. That's new :D
Only seems to be when looking at service tag information on Dell site.
But looking forward to _MY_ new M11xR3 replacement when it comes out ... :D I dream!!.

lol i ment as to my PC before and after the SP1 update.

reason i say that it my RAM is still running at the same speed and timings it was before i upgraded the RAM. the only thing that changed was the amount of RAM. and the HDD score is odd too cuz i thought spindel drives couldnt get more than 5.9 regardless of speed. for exmp. my desktop has a new version 1TB WD black in it that was getting a rating of 5.9. which i would think should be faster than a notbook drive that has 1/2 the cashe and 1/2 the platters.

oh well, not a huge deal. just thought it was worth mentioning.

oh and good luck with the pinmod. do you have the SLG or ICS PLL?

ahh i understand, im going to rerun the test again after the update. oh and i have the SLG. all im going to do is cut pin 2 and disable overclock mode, pin 2 is bios test mode. all for just 1.73
