Hi, I've recently bought an Crucial m4 256gb ssd and ran the AS-SSD benchmark. However comparing these results with other m4's, I am getting half the read speeds. I've set it on AHCI mode. Is this normal?

    Running on M11x R2 A04 firmware BIOS.
M4 is running on 000F firmware.

Ps. Im new on the forums!

The M11x R2 is only SATA II not SATA III so your SSD will run at SATA II speeds. In the majority of cases half the speed of a SATA III port in terms of seq reads.

It is still better to get a SATA III SSD for future proof anyway and I am using a SATA II in my R3 and really didn't notice much difference in real life terms, they are both bloody fast.

    M11x R2 maybe SATA II?
    Crucial M4 is SATA III
Are you running latest 000f firmware?

Crucial M4 256GB SSD Review (on SATA 2).

Sata 2 cripples the speed of the Sata 3 M4.
