I know i'm new but i've been lurking the forums for about a month and from all the great feedback from all the threads and posts I came to make my decision to buy my M11x. And I decided to go with an R1 for me it was an informed decision saving money and also getting a hassle free machine, I'm not saying R2 is a hassle but it seems like theres more work involved where it shouldn't be anyways thanks everyone :D

Hey Surfxombie Do you know if anyone has posted a thread where there are a confirmed list of recent games playable by R1?

Does the alienware m11x suitable for schooling needs? As in, other than games, would it able to provide me my needs for projects, presentation and etc? How long can it last?

Yep see that thread or for some games there are single threads discussing them.

I suspect the problem is that the M11x will run 80% of the games at full, 18% at medium and 2% will be bumping along on low. So the discussion seems to be on the 2% end. (judicious use of 80/20 rune :))

I would also say that apart from some notoriously finicky games (like WoW) the M11x does the job. The few I have tried worked fine (DDO, Mass Effect 2). I do note that the "autodetect" for grafx in these games gets it too low and I can up it to max (or close to). But take this with a warning as I have only tried a few games sofar.
