Which part of the system did you scratch and which revision do you have? Any scratches on rubberized plastic on the R2's lid should just about disappear with a damp cloth, based on other products I've seen with the material (I have a R1).

    Man. Battle.

    Man like battle.

    Scar.

    Man like battle scar.

    Computer. Scratch.

    Man like computer scratch.

When your hinges break later and you're out of warranty and you've re-attached the lid onto the hinges with 15mm bolts through the lid surface, do you think people will be saying...ooohh look there's a scratch there. :D

My M11xR1 in black got a scratch (4mm x 2mm) on the right side next to the headphone symbol when it was dropped 2' and hit a pot plant box.

Now my M11x has been blooded. .... maybe it's just a man thing.

It's on the bottom of the rig (an R2). I know I'm being anal but so what if I just want my baby to stay in pristine condition. I'm reading about using toothpaste on polycarbonate but that seems to be only for lenses. Also, off topic but any advice about handling a stripped screw (i.e. where to buy screws for the laptop, how to remove/ tighten/ loosen, etc.). Sure, it's a dumb question but maybe someone knows magic?

Please do not use toothpaste, it'll only ruin the finish. If the lid ever appears scratched, just use a damp cloth and it should look much better, rubberized plastic is pretty scratch-resistant.

I also used one of those anti-static cloths...didn't do the trick. Guess i may just have to live with it.

You made sure the cloth was damp (slightly wet), right? A little water is good at making scratches seem to disappear in rubberized plastic usually.

There might be something decent to learn out of M15x/M17x cleaning videos, the materials are similar/the same. (Sorry if I'm wrong, I didn't watch the videos.)

I had just given a important presentation in front of 60 peers, put away the laptop in the case, and stepped outside. It was pouring so I ran for the train, not realizing my case was unzipped on one side. About halfway there, my r2 started skipping like a rock along the street. I caught up with it about 30 feet later. I have the most beat up new computer on the block.

Scratches are battle scars. Leave them.

    Pics or it didn't happen...

    lol

I have an R1... I used some car grade wax on the lid and my scratches somewhat buffed out.

Didn't the car wax ruin the finish in those parts, or at least make those parts look different from the rest of the lid?

Left front corner is missing 2 chunks, and there's a swirl of scratches around the alien head (which remains scratch-free). It spent a lot of time on the lid. I'm sure there are worse condition M11x's out there, but it's the 10th day disaster I'm particularly proud of.
