So, I went and installed a GFX card update, and when it started installing my screen went black. It stayed this way for several minutes, so I figured something was wrong. I shut down the computer, waited a few seconds, then rebooted. The first thing I noticed was that my external monitor didn't have anything on the screen. Then, at the user-login page, the resolution was set to 800x600. I immediately signed in, and went to my screen-res window, then tried to fix it, but instead the only options I have are 800x600, and 1024x768. It's really annoying, and actually starting to give me a headache. Can someone tell me how I might go about fixing this?

SOunds like a bad or not at all drive install. Use driver sweeper in windows safe mode and then try to install the driver again, preferably a fresh dl.

Do I clean Nvidia Chipset, Physx, and Display, or just certain ones in particular?

Display and optionally physx. Chipset is for the motherboard chipset if applicable which it isnt in your case anyways.
