Hi folks.
I see a few people have disassembled their screens to fix the hinge problem - does anyone know how the webcam connects to the motherboard ? Does it have it's own cable, or is it shared with the screen's cable ?
The reason I ask, is that my webcam microphone only works when the screen is FULLY opened - any less, and it doesn't pick up any audio ! It's obviously a loose connection somewhere (or a broken cable) - and I'm wondering where to start looking !
Hopefully it's just a case of pushing a connector together at one end or the other![]()

Anyone out there ?

id suggest calling dell and getting another screen, if you open up the screen you risk dust getting under the screen lid.

Unfortunately I'm overseas right now - and I suspect DELL's warranty won't work outside the purchase country...

Well i bought m11x in denmark but was reparing it in Russia and no problem. I have 2 lcd's replaced here with no problem. International warrany rules

Yes. I bought mine in USA. Now I am in Peru, and I got my Display and Battery replaced... Dell International Warranty is awesome!!!
Apart from the antennas, I guess that there is only one cable that comes up from the Display. So this cable should be for the led display, camera, alienware lights, etc....
