I been having this issue for about a month now, my computer is only 3 months old. For the first 2 months it played flawlessly, no problems at all and it was rather quiet. Then suddenly it starts making a rather loud noise but still runs flawlessly. A week after that the noise goes away but after playing for 10 minutes my fps drops from 60-50 to less than 10 ( using TF2 as an example here ). Before I could play at 60-50 fps all the time. This is for all games even ones that need very little power to run ( like minecraft ).
I did various checks, first was my tempuatures. It idles at around 60C normally and when gaming it will go up to 80C and not get any lag at all. Now I heard mix reactions about this, some say its perfectly normal but others get 60C while gaming. Currently I use a cooling pad ( more like mat ) and after awhile I found that it actually make it hotter so I stopped using it.
Next I did some virus/spyware scans and it did remove a few adware tracking cookies but didn't fix the problem.
The fan itself is acting very strange. It will constantly turn on and off, even stranger it will be on while idle but turns off the second I launch a game. I use a headset so I don't mind the sound so if there is a way to always keep it on I would like it.
My drivers graphics drivers are not updated because it literally messed up almost everything.
Any help would be appreciated. The way I understand it is that the computer is underclocking itself for some reason, and may be related to temperature even though it is not really that high.

dust...
go to wallmart/BB and get a can of air, blow your laptop out around the fan/heatsinks... -

Actually I was just doing that. Before hand I did it from the outside and it did nothing so this time I wanted to open it up and blow the air out from the inside....intill I found out that the fan is the exact last thing you reach and I chickened out at removing the memory as I didn't want to mess up anything ( I don't have a static mat ).
Serious Lag Issue
