Can anyone please help me with a R1 M11x that stutters all the way through a every game in Mass Effect 2? I uninstalled my Realtek sound drivers and uninstalled my Nvidia drivers (using the latest from Dell) and even after reinstalling them, the game still stutters. I have my system OC's through the Bios, yet no matter how much I lower the settings in the game, the sound and video stutters every 5-7 seconds. The game is playable but this is annoying considering that so many M11x owners have no problems with the game. What else can I do? Could there be a conflict with my Realtek HD audio drivers and my Nvidia HD audio drivers?
Also, this is the only game that stutters like this and I have uninstalled the game and re-downloaded it through Steam.

    Please help!

Have you confirmed that it's using the 335? What driver are you using? ME2 runs smooth as butter with everything cranked up on my system.

Yes, I am definitely using the 335 card. I can't figure it out. It worked perfect when I first played it, but after I opened my lid up when it was playing through hdmi, the game started freezing up. I have reinstalled my sound and graphic drivers and reinstalled the game again- nothing worked.

Just a quick update... I removed my Mass Effect 2 files from 'My Documents' and started a fresh version of the game. Even at 800x600 (with everything turned off) during the initial opening scene, the game was stuttering like crazy. I seriously think something is screwed up with my system, but only this game is affected. All my other games play extremely smooth... For instance, I was playing Just Cause 2 at full resolution and medium to high settings and the gameplay was smooth compared to the jerky gameplay I am getting in ME 2. Any M11x experts out there think they may know how to fix my problem with ME 2? I really want to enjoy this game because I really like the storyline and gameplay, but the stuttering is driving me crazy when playing.

I play ME2 religiously since more DLC came out today. I run the 257.30 drivers on the m11x native resolution of 1366x768 with all the toppings and it runs smooth as butter for me. Also, playing Dragon Age, SC2, Dead Space, with smooth action with same 1366x768 and high settings

Maybe disk clean up, defrag, and reboot. Deleting and reinstalling a huge file like ME2 will cause fragmentation. Do it just to be safe

Maybe I should upgrade to the R2? Btw, I am not sure I should defragment since I am running on a SSD. Is there a way to defragment the game only, since every other game runs fine? Also, is it possible I have a memory leak with this game?

I have no problems with my R1. I don't think it is a driver issue. I went into bios and only have discrete selected as my graphics option. Try that, not switchable of course, but it may help you out. ME2 plays perfectly for me.

I may try a trick I found on Gaming News Link... but if it doesn't work, I may do a restore from an Acronis image I recently made a week ago.

Well, thats odd. The system was shown that it could run ME2 on full (Because its a GPU heavy game, not CPU). What processes are running in the background? What anti-virus are you using? Turn off your internet connection, turn off your anti-virus but before you turn it off, do a good fullscan, so no viruses are hiding on your PC and turn off all useless processes in the task manager. +Rep if this helps.

I play ME2 just fine on my m11x on switchable mode. This is definitely weird. I know it doesnt solve anything but this is just another testimonial that it works well on the R1.

No luck... I've already been turning off internet when I start it, and my antivirus gets turned off by gamebooster when I start the game. I also ran a virus scan and got nothing.

And yeah I know that for some reason this problem is somewhat isolated... but just on the off chance someone does happen to find / think of a working solution for it, you are my new hero :D
