perfectly normal temp... you can keep using your laptop for a whole day and you´ll still get around the same temp...

however if you play high end games, you might go way up to 60s-70s

Been getting really high temp after switching to the bios mod for higher GPU voltage. I'm switching back to the a04 bios and will report back if my temp is improved

I get 50-60°C on idle or web browsing, 75-85°C while gaming, here in Mty, Mexico is over 100°F every day...

BTW, are you guys talking about CPU or GPU? Because my GPU is around 35°C while web surfing/idle

I stick at around 50 degrees if I've been taking notes all day and the laptop has actually been on my lap, I carry around my large laptop cooler that I use if I actually game and that reduces my temps to about 48, my GPU and CPU are always overclocked too.

I think i am having a problem with my temps - idle is 62-65C and gaming gets over 100C and automatic shutdown at 105C. I contacted alienware support today, but my warranty ran out two months ago - should buy the 1 year extension for 150$ quickly and get them to replace something?

I tried it without opening the laptop - with a vacuum - but did not see big changes. Is there a relatively unrisky way to open it and suck the dust out? We got pretty hairy cats - so that might be it )

Best way to do that? Just use air in the fan vent? in an angle? Is not gonna blow the dust inside? Use air then a vaccum?

I just noticed that the fan in my m11x has some dust on it, I have 11 months with it, never cleaned it up...

No, only blow air through the back exhaust vent - that should send dust through the bottom fan grate. Vaccum it after if you like :).

...and you are not trying to spin up the fan with compressed are until it screams in protest, but its ok if fan rotates. Do all this with system turned off.

I ask because the fan is the one with dust, no the exhaust vent

HWiNFO64 seems to do the job pretty well and I think it's pretty accurate.

It will work, trust me on this. My R1 is 1.5yrs old and the CPU never exceeds 50c even when gaming, this is entirely down to me blasting dust out through the exhaust vent every couple of weeks.
