With the demo being released tomorrow, any predictions on how this will run?
I'm going to guess medium to low settings.

I'm happy with mediums! I'm excited. Very excited. Overclocking will probably help a lot. I'm going to test a lot of options out.
Also, just checked Steam.. Fallout New Vegas DLC too.. shall be a goooooood day -
Let me know how the game plays. i'm very interested.

I'm currently downloading the Shogun II demo. I might not be able to play it tonight (midnight here) but I'll definitely post my average FPS and different settings tomorrow.
The demo is 5.9GB....... -
I'm looking forward to the input u guys give me. i would download it myself. but it would take me till the release date of the game to download it anyways

Im playing now waiting on my army to move but seems like a pretty cool game Im maxed out on everything and playing perfectly smooth..
R1 O/C'ed
CPU1 %100
CPU2 %71 -
What? Really? i'm pleasantly surprised. i didn't expect everything to be maxed out. let's hope the actual game runs as well then.

Gotta wait till the morning to play -
. I haven't ran it with Fraps yet but I will tomorrow and post.

Yes I just checked again everything is maxed out to ultra every possible setting I can find.. even shawdow on Ultra plays good.
Man the Intro to the game is intense! some of the cinamatics look like real people! My only gripe with the game so far is the font size is so small its kinda hard to read I looked around for settings to make larger but have not found anything to make it bigger.. other then that I can see this is a highly addictive game.
And to the above post Im OC'ed and its defintly playable.. if I was playing a FPS I would want more FPS but to me with this type of game its pretty good. -

. I did however just overclock. I'm going to see how this babe runs now
.
I don't see this really as "smooth". I'm getting about 4-16 fps depending where I am looking in the humongous historical battle. Majority of the time the fps is around 8-10. This to me seems about the same as ETW. This game is awesome. -
That's OK.. I just tried it with out OC and its not really playable on ultra settings.. but OC'ed and I'm happy this little M11x yet to disappoint me

As a fan of Shogun Total War, and Medieval Total War... will this game disappoint? I hated Medieval 2 and Empire... (runs)

What GPU drivers are you using? It might be causing the low FPS.
-
But I agree awsome game and sweet lil laptop -

Not too sure but doesnt FRAPS sometimes affect gameplay? maybe the fps dropped while using it? Anyways, sounds like i'll have no problems playing the game. which is great i cant wait till it comes out!!! thanks guys

With settings at high and shadows on low, the game seems most playable for me. Fps stays around 10-20 and is smooth, however there are still quite a few bumps. We must remember, this isn't even considering AA. I think AA will kill the games fps...
Does anyone notice the horses look kind of weird? Their texture looks awkward to me.

I played it earlier.
But the graphics were a little odd. Everything looked all washed-out... -

I'm running the R2 with the i5...
After starting the game on the default settings, it was completely unplayable. About 4 fps.
Though, pretty much every game runs slow on my m11x. Idk if its Steam, optimus issues, or what. Usually doesnt bother me because I don't do much gaming, but I was rele looking forward to this demo so its kinda disappointing. -

Unplayable, my older Asus G51vx rocks it on ultra though - go figure.
-
Okay unplayable on any setting? so from what everyone is saying. its playable on the R1. not playable on the R2?
Peculiar. it looks like i might not be purchasing this game right away until this can get sorted out. i assumed it could be played at the very least on low settings. -

For me no matter what I did, any any variation of graphics settings - I couldn't get the tactical battles to display properly. Creative Assembly has always had a buggy system - I'm think the ultra low voltage + 335m wasn't meant to cooperate with the engine totally; some seem to get it to work...not I said the fly.

I purchased Shogun 2 through the steam holiday sale, but I cannot.... i repeat... cannot... get the game to recognize the nvidia graphics card. I made sure it was whitelisted, right clicked on the exe and ran with the right card but still... in the game menu under graphic settings its only picking up the intel card.
I've never had this problem before, I tried two different drivers, including the stock dell one.
anyone have this issue or know how to resolve it?
thanks! -
This issue has been going on since game launched as far as i know.
-
try forcing the nvidia card in the BIOS menu
-
Been running the full game on nearly max settings, looking splendid and everything. May of turned shadows and such off. I don't have anything to measure FPS though but I'm personally more than happy. Great game. (R3)
