It will run, but probably low to medium settings.
-
will it run on a BIOS OC'ed r1?!!!
-
hmm, it will be close, the cpu doesnt quite make it but thats true for most games on the r1. my guess is if you have a decently OCing gpu maybe medium settings? but man, I REALLY want to see this game maxed out. Ill probobly need an m17x or something for that though...
-
I use my m11x mostly for travel and grabbing snatches of gaming in lunch breaks and waiting for people at uni. Desktop does all the heavy lifting (in need of a overhaul though!). -
seems like we have to wait until 11-11-11 =)
-
will my r2 run this? i was gonna get it for the ps3 but if there wont be too many problems running it on my r2 i7 then i'll get it for that instead.
-
-
im pretty sure my R1 pinmodded to 1.9ghz will run it atleast on low.
-
its going to run fine, im almost certain.
-
well well, Im thinking in spending 60 bucks, I have 2 options
1. wait until release and ask here for someone who have played on r1 it runs fine, then buy
2. buy now and pray to run fine
3. buy for xbox 360
:/ ohhhh decisions!!! -
-
Elder Scrolls IV run's GREAT on an R2 I7.
I've had my eye on it for awhile, but when the new version came out, the older version cost only $20, So I risked it - Here are the results non-tech results.
All of these results are with a stock M11x (no overclocking, no special boot options to optimize, and normal lcd screen), I have no idea what an external screen would do to this...
Integrated Graphics Card - Run very nicely on MEDIUM with full wide screen, but anything higher than medium is a black screen.
Then I whitelisted it for the NVIDIA 335.
NVIDIA Card - Runs even faster on HIGH and even ULTRA HIGH graphics with full wide screen.
I'm enjoying this game, and I can't imagine that the new version would be all that different... but don't want to gamble the $60 (I'm just an occasional gamer).
Hope this helps. -
In not reading any skyrim news until I play it, im pre purchasing in steam this week =) -

My life of adventure,
in the land of SKYRIM!!!!
Sorry but I am super pumped for this game...
Just hope screen size doesn't detract from the huge open world... This'll be the first game I load up on my new machine! -
I am really holding out that the R1 can hold its own vs Skyrim. For some reason I am just not feeling getting this for PS3.
-
I've got this pre-ordered for the Xbox 360 until someone confirms that it runs decently on the M11x R2.
I'm sure it will run, but it's a matter of how well it will run. If the game only runs at "low" settings, then I might as well just play it on the Xbox 360. -
Wait and see, I'll run it on maximum settings! hehe
Here I run Crysis 2 on Extreme very smoothly. Unless Skyrim has an Ubersampling like The Witcher 2 (lol), it will run here, I trust.
So I did with BF3 too, runned it with Maximum settings (but not with HD blur type). -
Alright - whats the verdict, who got it for m11x? how is it running?
EDIT: doh what the heck? 11/11 not on a tues ugh! -
I'm guessing the PC version on an m11 R1 will handily beat the Xbox 360 or PS3 version (I know Oblivion looked and ran much better on my M11 R2), especially where textures are concerned. Just get it for PC, then hook up to your HDTV.
The PC version will also allow you to use the many great mods that are sure to come.
As for running highest settings, this game will, for better or worse, not be that graphically taxing: it's Dx9 and is developed with the console base in mind. I'm guessing a 6970m or GTX 485m will be able to max without AA it at 1080p with decent FPS. -
wow, its dx9? Didnt know that ...
EDIT: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Main Theme
sorry I couldn't resist sharing it!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuHeTfy7gSY&feature=youtu.be -
Yes, Elder Scrolls games used to be known for pushing the envelope. Now, shamefully, they are using a tired, nearly 8 year old API (the same that was used in Oblivion, released in 2006).

And all I have to do is agree with that!
Epicness to the limits is in this music. -

I don't see it running on anything less than medium with some mixed low settings (shadows, etc). Only the R1s will probably be mostly low settings.
-
11.11.11 I'll be in a better place!
expect benchies!!! -
In some countries, the DVD retail has been sold

-
Any ideas? If anyone doubts me I can take a screenshot.
Edit: Had a look around the web and it's DX9 with 'limited' DX11 support. Same as everything nowadays. -
Just wanted to add that in my pre load files theres dx10 folders. Dont understand why theyd do dx10 and not 11..

Hi Guys,
Even though I've recently moved onto the M14x I thought you guys would like to hear this humorous little excerpt from Gamespys's Skyrim PC review running on the M11x R3
'Quote'
Scott Sharkey: The M11x (R3-i5) handles it just fine on medium-ish settings, and can manage it cranked to full if I put the thing in a bucket of ice. It's funny, but even though this little bugger still manages to overheat sometimes playing Oblivion, Skyrim runs like I rubbed it with cheetah blood. I can't help thinking of Bethesda and the Creation Engine as a guy with a really quirky old car who after all these years has learned out to coax more out of it than seems possible. It's not going to win anything on a track, but it's impressive.
'End quote' - original review here GameSpy: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PC Review - Page 1
Looks like all revision's of the M11x should have no problems running this new definitive RPG (average 95% across most reviews so far - with your standard bethesda bugs as the only let down)
Happy gaming guys -
confirmed getting about 30ish fps in open areas. will sometimes go to 25 fps due to stutter but it is playable. I have been playing on medium. In doors fps is between 35-40
-
-
I'm playing it on Maxed everything except FXAA and AA and i get 15-30FPS. just to see what it's capable of. I will make a youtube video of it later when I'm done with my classes.
R2 m11x. -
judging from dmfky's other posts seams like a i5r2 which makes me smile coz its same as mine
cant wait to play this game
-
-
Heres some gameplay of Skyrim I recorded with fraps:
Skyrim on M11x R3 - YouTube
Running on M11x R3 - i3 - 4GB
Graphics are unchanged, running at 24-30 fps with fraps and 28-40 without fraps, along with 50-60 when inside. -
Can someone with the i5/i7 R3 post their results? I'd like to see how much the turbo improves fps
-
Since when do you have Skyrim?
-
here you go guys. as promised, proof of skyrim running on M11x R2.
Elder Scrolls V Skyrim M11x R2 High settings - YouTube -
yeah using throttlestop and overclock fsb to 166 and playing at native res of the machine. Sorry for late reply I'm from Australia and I have just woke up :S
-
Hmm, I'm guessing r1 is out of the question?
-
Thanks! -
The difference between the r3 and the r2 is noticeable. what is the settings for that R3? or is it just the screen capture device thats changing how it looks? Mazda does your actual graphics look like the footage from the r3 because it looks different from me.
Is there that much of a difference between the 335m and the 540m? -
-
*drool* thanks for the information. i just wanted to make sure that what your seeing is similar in quality to the r3. now that its confirmed im probably gonna get skyrim for my r2. i probably will run it on medium but it looks like it will look pretty good.
-
*sigh* guess I'll just have to get it for ps3
-
In about 3 hours, I'll give Skyrim a test on my M11x R2.
If I can keep the framerate at 40, I'll be happy. -
how do you think skyrim on medium settings on the m11x r2 will look compared to a console like ps3 and xbox?
-
It will look a little different, since the Xbox runs ambient occlusion all the time.
the textures should be sharper on the M11x though.
No matter how it looks though, you really want to play an Elder Scrolls game on PC. Downloading plugins and community mods is what keeps games like this alive for years after release.
When you buy Elder Scrolls for console, you're basically stuck with the content Bethesda gives you (most of which you have to pay for) -
I just need to wait 2 hours 57 minutes 27 seconds
and I would be playing skyrim, on the r1, lets hope this works just like on the other m11x's =)
