I saw a thread on this earlier, but I don't know if there was ever a conclusive answer. All of the pages on the dell Canada site list the video card as the NVIDIA® GeForce® GT430M, when the American store and all the press releases and everything have it as the 540M. It doesn't even seem as though there is a 430M, however there is one called the 430, but it says that it is a desktop video card so I'm not sure if that could be it.

The Dell tech support that I chatted with could not be any more useless as you can tell from our conversation,

"04/27/2011 10:20:30AM Agent (Sreekanth PV): "Hi Toby"
04/27/2011 10:21:14AM Toby: "Hey, I just have a question concerning the newly released Alienware m11x."
04/27/2011 10:21:31AM Agent (Sreekanth PV): "Glad you chatted in today, I'd be happy to help you
    ."
04/27/2011 10:23:58AM Toby: "The Dell Canada site lists the video card in this computer to be the Nvidia GT 430m. However the american site, aswell as all the other dell sites list the video card as the GT 540m. I assume that this is just a typo as all the press releases and news abo"
&nbsp ut this laptop also have it listed as the 540m. Can you confirm whether or not this is infact just a typo?
04/27/2011 10:24:42AM Agent (Sreekanth PV): "Well our promotions keep changing from region to region and hence you find the cariation.."
    04/27/2011 10:24:51AM Agent (Sreekanth PV): "* variation"
04/27/2011 10:26:07AM Toby: "So does this mean that the video cards in the two are the same or are different?"
04/27/2011 10:26:59AM Agent (Sreekanth PV): "They are different"
04/27/2011 10:27:22AM Agent (Sreekanth PV): "The one is GT 430M and the other one is GT 450M"
04/27/2011 10:27:54AM Toby: "Ok thank you."
04/27/2011 10:28:08AM Agent (Sreekanth PV): "Welcome"

    ...

Obviously he has no clue what he is talking about, I don't even know why I bother with customer support for issues such as this.

So do you guys think for sure that they are actually both the 540M?

    It is the GT540M.

Dell reps are well known to be VERY unreliable when it comes to anything but sounding hard to understand on the phone. This is especially true for the indian call centers where they are super trained to sound knowledgeable about everything they have no understanding about. They would beat the polygraph machine in their sleep!

I just ordered my m11x today through the phone, and when they email you the quote it shows the card as the GT 540. Just make sure you confirm with the quote they send you before ordering, but it is just a typo on the website.
