This isn't for fanboys... I'm just curious as to if anyone has played or seen some PC beta footage for MW3 or heard anything about it being optimized well, and if it'll run like MW2 did/does on the m11x.

    Discuss!!! I am curious! :D

So, no one has heard anything about MW3 on PC? I realize it's going to be more of a console game, but there's a lot of people who only play PC and it'd be nice if this game worked on the M11X
Now I'm assuming it will because it looks like it's running the same engine as MW2 did.

Thanks, I appriciate it, I'm assuming if my m11x can run black ops at 45+ fps it should have no problem with mw3 (Crosses fingers) unless it's "ported" like crap again.

I Hope so, hopping that black ops was PURE S*** because it was not made by IW ...

Just take a look at the engine, which is the same from COD 4 to MW3 ... 60 FPS on COD4 , 50 on MW with new effects ( native resolution , graphics medium / high ) , and less than 20 FPS on black OPS with EVERYTHING on low.

Seems like Treyarch dunno the word " optimised " ...

Black ops is free this week end, just try it R1 owners, you'll see how bad is this game in term of performance. Hope MW3 will fix this.

Yea, it'll nice to receive CoD4 however my preorder's at gamestop already (I just had to get that free CoD MW3 Poster :D),

I just watch a clip from Robert Bowling's interview and they did in fact talk about PC optimization and they want the PC to be able to do more than it has, so I think they understand that EA has built their game purely from PC up then to consoles, and Infinity Ward/Activision/Sledgehammer games sees this as a threat and still wants to keep their PC fanbase because thats at least 1/4 or so of their sales.

After watching this I really don't have any doubt about it, I'm assuming that you'll get the same FPS as you would on black ops, just without all the stuttering.

If you reduce your Ragdoll effects down to 0 via the console and some other settings which can be found if you google Black Ops Tweaks and I find Fragworld is the best (Sorry if I broke the rules there :)) you'll notice a drastic increase in FPS, also turning on your shader warning will help if you're just stuttering.
I suggest playing high to extra textures, the game runs better (just like BF2BC because they're terribly ported). With these settings at a reso of 1024X768 I get about 40 FPS even in crazy gunfights, now this may not make you WANT to play black ops, but if you do, it's easily playable this way (Though there's still the issue of the hardware input lag).

All in all, I love MW2, but once I get about 3 games in, everyone just starts tubing, so I switch over to black ops.

Thanks for tips. I only play it twice ( first and now free week end ) , and i use to even tweak on my Desktop as it also lag -_- ( 5750 Overclocked, Phenom 2 X4 B55, 4GB DDR OCZ and fresh install, still lag at native resolution )

But last time i tried to tweak BO a bit for the M11X, i wasn't able to get a playable framerate. I'll check it tomorow if someones come to play home :)

They both have their ups and downs, I feel CoD is more of a lone wolf game, even if just playing regular Team Deathmatch and obviously battlefield is a team game. Now, that being said, as to why these two games are going to be compaired and why everyone is fighting about it I have no idea, Two seperate game that have never been compaired with TWO seperate GAMESTYLES, one has vechicles, one has killstreaks with better vehicles and that's just the start of differences, it just boggles my mind.
People need to be gamers, not haters.

Two differents games yeah, but black ops is still the worst Call of Duty ( WAW also but we know it )

MW3 won't have killstreak but pointstreak wich should be more " teamplay "

see, i liked MW2, but not black ops. i find that the pc version of black ops is way too fast paced. as soon as i respawn, BOOM dead. lol. and it just feels cheep compared to BC2. and if MW3 is more teamplay, i might like it more then black ops. also i feel like BF3 will be a lot more realistic. (fully destructible buildings, etc)

BF3 is optimised for PC since it is scripted for PC then ported to consoles.
MW3 is scripted for consoles then ported to PC.
So no doubt it wont be as optimised as BF3, however, it will be better optimised than blops and since it is a far less demanding game than BF3, it should still run fine on the m11x.

Personally, CoD should not even be listed as a lone wolf game.

I never use Teamwork in BF2 (You must be thinking I'm nuts) because the enemy always expects you to come in a group of +3 men, I just go commando and sneak around.

CoD is a run and gun, that's it. It fails to do what DOOM I and II did well.

    Now, on-topic.
    BF3 will run okay IMHO.
Mw3 is a 50-50, Black Ops could run well, but it was optimization lacking even though it used the same engine as MW2 which ran very well. Infinity Ward is crap at Multiplayer but they're good at making a decent engine that's sliced off ye' ol' Quake engine.

Yep. We should not forget that, they call it IWengine or else, the game engine is still from iDtech3 , the engine of Quake 3 ... 1999 ...

Even with the several improvement they made, it should still be playable with optimisation on lower spec system ( and that's why the game is 60 fps fast action and kinda ugly compared to BF3 for exemple, the engine is from 99 ... )

Thanks for the responses guys, sorry haven't been on in a few days
But yes, I'm not really concerned, especially since Robert Bowling said PC optimization was going to try and be a main focus and if you can run black ops.... You're good to go
