    Soft touch finish on r2/r3 question

    I see some kind of white dots on it like it is sparkling, is that normal?

    They are different finishes.

    Hopefully the R3 won't peel, like I've heard has happened to some R2's.

    No flakes on my R2.

    Metallic flake on a soft-touch finish? That doesn't make sense...

    i have an R2 and it peels on the sides, but does not peel on the lid i can tell you that much.

    Yeah I noticed the different finish on my R3. Feels less 'rubbery' than the R2 did too. I like both finishes personally.

    Sparkly laptops, sparkly vampires, what's next? :p

    The metallic flake actually looks sexy, it doesn't look and feel cheap like those thinkpads.

    Cool, looks like another nice extra touch from the Alienware guys. I know Dell has taken over but you can tell there's still some true Alienware people involved in these machines. :)

    My ASUS G73 has a similar "skin" like the m11x. After a while it did start to come off. I live in florida though and use my laptop outside so I'm sure that probably had a lot to do with it.
