...my Slim Xbox 360 250GB + 35 games.
I should jump on this right?![]()

Let me specify..
Intel® Core™ i7 2617M 1.5GHz(2.6GHz w/Turbo Boost, 4MB Cache)
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit
8GB Dual Channel DDR3
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT540M graphics with 2.0GB Video Memory -
Ummm... there's no catch is there? Because you couldn't get a much better deal than that. That poor soul probably has no idea how good a trade that is for you.
I say take it and run! -
well... erm... if you are really bored to death and no longer play those games, then yea... take it and run as fast as you can
*doing raw math - xbox=300$ + games=35*40$ average=1400$, total 1700$, erm not a really good deal but will i ever play those games again? but then I could also sell my R1*
note: those prices are made up, no idea if they're actually what you payed for -
-
the deal is xbox+35 games trade for R3. no sale involved
if he's selling only the games plus the R1, then he can keep the xbox, get the R3 and a couple of newer games for xbox -
-
Majority of the 360 games are ~2 years old. I also rarely buy games new, mostly used off Amazon or from local buyers. I have 3 games purchased in the last year. Black ops, Reach, and new Vegas... Otherwise current Market value for the rest of the games is less than $10.
I don't ever play the xbox anymore, so I thought it was an amazing was to get an upgrade for my R1.
I will be keeping the R1. My wife is going to use it and we are going to sell her HP netbook. -
Take it, just be sure to thoroughly check that the R3 is basically new, reformat it and everything
-
definitely good deal. but as the guy above said, make sure everything is in order with the laptop.
-
Yea, he is coming over later and I will make sure it is in working condition.
One question I did have, can I use my Windows 7 64-bit installation disk from my R1 to reinstall Windows on my R3? He said he does not have the restore disk. -
-
Ok cool.
What noticible differences should I note between the R1 and the R3? -
1333MHz RAM instead of 800MHz
540M instead of 335M
Those are the main differences AFAIK. -
I should have been more specific, my fault.
With regards to use, what differences should I expect. I know my R1 does not have Optimus, so that will be different. I know my BIOS is much different, so I will tinker around in the one when i get it. But any big "do's" and "do not's" specific to a R3 spec?
I have never had an Sandy Bridge CPU (desktop or Laptop) so I am not familiar with OCing the CPU or their BIOS.
I have never dealt with Optimus. Should I expect to run into any issues with drivers? Can I install the new 285.62 BF3 drivers without issue?
Those are the two differences I expect -
erm... i dont think you can OC the sandy bridge cpus - but at stock clocks R3 performs better than oc-ed R1's
regarding the nvidia driver instalation, i just installed it ontop of the older one although i did check the "clean install" checkbox. -
Ok, I guess I misspoke, how do you enable the Turbo Boost? Is it like enabling the OC in the BIOS of the R1?
-
It's on by default.
The cpu OC by itself depending on load/temps.
My i5-2537m for example has a base clock of 1.4GHz, with one core loaded it goes up to 2.3GHz and with 2 cores to 2GHz... all by itself -
Ahh... thanks
Somone wants to give me an R3 for...
