Hi, it's been some time since I upgraded my drivers. The last time was when I upgraded to the 258.96 drivers. Installing the 258.96 drivers required some special steps, and I was wondering if there are any special steps that are needed for the istallation of the 260.99 drivers to get it working? I remembered that for the 258.96 drivers I had to replace the .inf file...

Will I lose the Nvidia taskbar feature that shows which programs are running with the nVidia chip if I upgrade to these new drivers?

    Thanks.

You'll still have the taskbar icon :)

And just download the latest Verde drivers and it will work fine :D

Since the 258.96 Release, NV Verde drivers officially began supporting the M11x, so you don't need to do anything extra anymore.

Thanks. I was passed this link and I assume this is the correct place to download the driver.

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99 WHQL

    Also, please confirm these steps:

Step 1: Go to Control Panel and remove 'Nvidia Display Control Panel', 'Nvida Drivers' and 'Nvida PhysX'.

Step 2. Reboot in safe mode by pressing F8 on start up and run Driver sweeper?
Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com

Step 3. Run the Nvidia 260.99 driver package

    Thanks for confirming these steps.

The newer versions of the verde driver include a "clean install" option now. If I recall correctly you need to do a custom install rather than a typical install in order to access this mode of installation. It's (supposedly) removing all traces of previous drivers much like driver sweeper does. I haven't heard anything negative about it and it worked for me when I upgraded from 258.96.

Nice! They really made it an easier hassle free process now. So, all I have to do is run the installation file and it will do everything in one step!

    Thanks again and again Slickie!

Ok, so I've installed the 260.99 drivers. How do I go about to show it in the task bar so that it shows which programs are actively using it?
I cannot seem to find the program to bring up it's control panel....

Right-click on the desktop and choose NVIDIA control panel.
Desktop > Display GPU Activity in Notification Area.

I actually kinda preferred Nautis' utilities, but it's the same thing.

    OUCH...!! I'll be damned..... :(

it's not the first time i change the driver. try to follow our fellas here for update from 258.96 to 260.99. back then i use 3 step that good fellas mentioned above and works fine. but somehow this time it failed install the Physiq driver during installation. so, only the driver was installed. I already rolling back into 3 step above for about 3 times and still same result. finaly, try to go back to 258.96 using the mod nvdm file.... and you now what ?? It FAILED also..... sigh... :( maybe something wrong during uninstallation. I guess I need to restart all over again from zero though, format everything...... :(
