I spilled some water on my m11x r2's keyboard. I cleaned up the water on the surface and turned off the comp and proceeded to take it apart. I unplugged the battery and took the keyboard out. There was some water underneath the keyboard which I cleaned up. Luckily it didn't leak under the plastic tray to the internals of the laptop. Anyway, I took the keyboard out and used a blow dryer to try and dry the remainder of the water on the keyboard itself.

Here's where the problem comes up, everything works normally but my keyboard won't light up. I didn't notice any led's when I took the keyboard apart so I assume that they are in the keyboard itself. Where are the LED's for the keyboard located? If I buy a new keyboard will my LED's work again?

    Thanks

it should be a white sheet under the keys - not say LED bulbs soldered together.

Or there could be small ones like on phone keyboards, still there would be a white sheet to spread the light (I am sure theres a fancy name for that photography people use). Should be fairly apparent if you know what you are looking for... anyways probably shorted something out in the lighting circuitry.

ohhh okay. i saw a white sheet under the keyboard. so then replacing the keyboard will make the lights work again most likely?

you are correct. they're going on ebay for like 50 though. better than not having lights or getting a new notebook...

any of you guys know if it matters which version of the keyboard i buy? will m11x r1 fit in r2?
